Setup models

With Exam Insights-managed setup, you send us a spreadsheet and we import users, grant licences, and handle later changes by email. Your school does not use Manage School.With self-managed setup, your school uses the Manage School portal to add users, grant and remove licences, and monitor usage yourself.You choose your model during purchase. Yes. Send us a spreadsheet of email addresses and we will import all users and grant licences on your behalf. See Exam Insights-Managed Setup.
Email schools@exam-insights.com with the email addresses and the change you need. Managed schools do not have Manage School access.

Manage School

Yes. Schools with Manage School access can appoint unlimited administrators. Any staff member you add as an administrator can access Manage School.
Yes. Educators can be granted administrator access in Manage School. This is common for heads of department who manage access for their subject areas.
Yes — if your school uses Manage School. You can upload a spreadsheet directly in the portal. See Adding Users in Manage School.If Exam Insights manages your setup, send your spreadsheet to schools@exam-insights.com.

Licences

No. Granting a licence does not send an email notification. Your school decides when and how to inform students and educators that they have access. See Student & Educator Access.
Yes. Self-managed schools can remove licences in Manage School. Managed schools should email schools@exam-insights.com. When a licence is removed, it returns to your available pool and the user loses access to upgraded features.
Yes. When a licence is removed from a user, it becomes available to assign to another user. Licences can be reassigned throughout the academic year.
Yes. Self-managed schools can add users in Manage School at any time and grant licences when ready. Managed schools can ask us to delay granting licences when sending their spreadsheet, or request changes later by email.
Educators are included at no extra cost with student licences (within reason). For self-managed schools, add educators in Manage School and grant them a licence the same way you would for a student. For managed schools, include educators on your spreadsheet and we will grant access.

Accounts & access

Yes. Many students and educators already have free Exam Insights accounts before your school purchases a licence. Existing accounts are recognised automatically.
If an email address already has an Exam Insights account, that account is linked to your school. The user keeps their existing account and simply signs in as usual. No duplicate account is created.
Yes. Students and educators can update their subjects at any time in Account Settings. No administrator action is required.
No. Students and educators choose their own subjects. You do not need to create classes, assign classes, or allocate subjects.
